amtrak is an amazing way to see america. i've taken the train from seattle to chicago, to new york.. from seattle to denver (via the sierra and rocky mountains) and also from seattle to los angeles.
i love shooting pictures from the train. sitting in a state room with my pajamas and headphones on, staring out the window at the scenery zipping past backwater towns and rundown back yards, industrial sites and dilapidated homes. it's like finding something hidden. a real discovery.
these pictures were taken between seattle and los angeles in april of last year.
